There are many models of Mazda 6 and people try to upgrade its stereo from time to time. There are many generations in this and techniques always like to keep themselves updated with the latest technology. But before selecting the newer versions of radios and replacing, the first step is to remove the former radio. This articles deals on how to remove the radio from Mazda 6. The steps that are given in this article can be worked on with models that were released between the years 2003 and 2008.

This article lists you all the required things to remove the default audio system from your mazda six car and also it also explains the step by step procedure to remove the stereo safely from your car. The procedure mentioned below holds good only for the two thousand three to two thousand eight car models.

Put the gear in the neutral position, set the parking brake and turn off the engine. After following these steps, open the hood of the car and disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery. It is absolutely necessary that you disconnect the battery from the car before proceeding to remove the radio from the car. If the battery is not disconnected from the car then there may be short circuiting or electrical shocks. So make sure that you follow this step for your own safety.

Get into your car. Make sure your car's gear system is in neutral position. The engine is turned off and hand brake is applied. Parking brake is the other name of the hand brake. The negative terminal of the car's battery is disconnected. The gear shifting knob is twisted counter clock wise direction and the knob is removed carefully. The center console is smashed and the cup holder is grabbed and removed carefully.

The glove compartment is opened to gain access to the side-mounted bold of the radio. The sides of this compartment are squeezed simultaneously, and are made to be dropped down. Once this is done, the screws that are seen can be removed.

The glove box is removed and the next moment the radio is made accessible. The sides of the glove box is squeezed and then dropped down. Now you will find a ten mm bolt on the left side. This bolt is removed carefully.

After the radio is removed, do the above steps in the reverse order to assemble the parts. The dash is placed and all the screws are screwed back. The gear is then shifter in to the park mode. The battery of car is again reconnected. The negative wire is again placed on the battery and tightened.

Now the default factory radio is completely removed from your Mazda six car. You can fit your new audio system and test it. Once the new set is fixed your new audio system is ready to rock your Mazda six. Thus this article shows How to Remove the Radio From a Mazda 6 without much difficulty.
